Nick Mintenko - Idle Time (LIVE)
Recorded live in Victoria BC, Canada. Chris Neal - Sound capture and engineering. Trevor Bennett - Video Lyrics. Play that song again. Let me lay here. Pretend that I am not afraid to wait, and this love gone blind will return in time. My feet are yearning but my heart is living in this tree. The blossoms are lush and I want to lay here in the shade. But time has lain its waste once more. Looking back on a memory scorned, I seem to live in days to come concerned about what can't be undone. I've got to be more and learn to savour. It seems present days are all I endure. And I am not afraid to wait, and this love gone blind will return in time, in idle time wading in the shallows of this cool creek side, living in the hallows of the this gifted time. Lay down in the water please with me. Let the river drown the hands of time. I am not afraid to wait and this love gone blind will return in time, in idle time, in wasted time.

Nick Mintenko Quartet
https://artsonview.ca/donate/ After a rich education in jazz music, Nick Mintenko takes his first step as a bandleader in jazz. He has had the privilege of joining many friends in playing the restaurant circuit in Victoria, and playing main stages at British Columbia’s jazz festivals, all as a sideman, bassist, guitarist, and singer. Now he is so thrilled to present music by his favourite composers, Django Reinhardt, Duke Ellington, Gershwin, Nat King Cole, and more. Nick is joined by two of his great friends in music, Mitchell Green on guitar, and Quin Etheridge-Pedden on Violin. Anchoring the group on bass is Victoria stalwart Joey Smith, who was also Nick’s teacher and mentor from the Victoria Conservatory of music.
